DAY 1

We can either take you from Prague to Salzburg, or to come to pick you up to Salzburg.
Salzburg medieval town
This Austrian city called the "Salt Fortress" is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. Salzburg's "Old Town" (Altstadt) is famous with the baroque architecture. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The city is noted for its Alpine setting. Salzburg was the birthplace of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid-20th century, the city was the setting for parts of the American musical and film The Sound of Music. The musical was a partnership between Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.

Vyssi Brod monastery
Come to see the ancient monastery with its church and baroque monastic library. The monastery dates back to the 13th century. The Cistercian Abbeys Vyssi Brod (Hohenfurth) in Bohemia is one of the last Cistercian monasteries that once existed in the historical lands of the present-day Czech Republic. Their cultural impact is inseparable from the history of these lands.

Rozmberk castle
The Rozmberk castle was founded in the first half of the 13th century. The castle was opened to the public in the middle of the 19th century as one of the first museums in Bohemia. From time of the first owners, the Rosenbergs, survived the Renaissance graffito decoration of the outside facades with beautiful painted decorations of the interiors.

Cesky Krumlov castle and medieval town
UNESCO NUMBER ONE IN EUROPE
Cesky Krumlov is situated on the River Vltava with the ancient town center on one bank and the castle ground on the other bank. The landmark of the panorama of the town is Cesky Krumlov Castle which consists of two parts: the Lower castle with a round tower (built in the 13th century) and the Upper castle, built in the 14th century. The castle was expanded several times. Later, the owners made some Baroque modifications: the chapel was rebuilt, masquerade hall decorated and a new manor theatre built. After Prague Castle, it is the second most outstanding castle in the Czech Republic. The magnificent interiors of the castle are open to the public (historical interiors--two sight-seeing routes). The castle´s viewing tower and exhibition rooms are also open to the public. You can also see the Museum of the famous painter Egon Schiele in the town.

Hluboka castle
Overlooking the River Vltava , there is the monumental structure of the romantic Hluboka Castle. The Castle was built around the middle of the 13th century and later purchased by the Schwarzenberk family, it was rebuilt several times. The latest modification in the Romantic style of the so-called Winsdor Gothic carried out between 1839 and 1871 transformed Hluboka into a representative residence of the Schwarzenberks. Representative interiors contain rare collections of Flemish tapestries, weapons, furniture and paintings. This is the most beautiful castle in the Czech Republic.

Konopiste castle
This castle was the last residence of the archduke Franz Ferdinand d´Este, who was assassinated in Sarajevo in 1914 along with his Czech wife, the event that started World War I. It houses valuable art collections and the third largest armoury in Europe. A viewing of the private rooms of Franz Ferdinand´s family is a highlight and must be booked in advance. It is closed in winter.
