Prague Zoo was first opened in September 1931. It is a modern garden, showing animals in conditions that resemble their natural environment as closely as possible. The garden participates in preservation of many endangered species. Every year, the garden is visited by more than one million customers and in 2007 it was named the 7th best zoo in the world by the prestigious Forbes Traveler magazine.
THE RIVER CRUISE TO THE TROJA CHATEAU
It is the two hour cruise to the chateau Troja and the two hour cruise back.
The price is calculated according to your program.
Troja Chateau is considered of the most important architectural works of the beginning of Late Baroque in Central Europe. In areas where vineyards were once located, Count Václav Vojtěch from Šternberk had the chateau built in 1678 to successfully obtain a title of nobility. The chateau's form resembles a type of an Italian suburban villa, it is therefore a summer residence rather than a chateau. The villa was also to serve as a residence and resting place of the emperor and his retinue while hunting in Stromovka, the nearby game enclosure. Outstanding European artists were invited to the construction and decoration of the chateau. The project was designed by Jean Baptist Mathey, an Italian architect, who changed the original concept to regular disposition with grand hall in the center.
If you enter the chateau's premises via its original ceremonial entrance, the southern gate by the Vltava river, you may sense the original atmosphere. Following the axis of the garden, guests may reach the very apex of the chateau's composition - the monumental two-arm grand sairway, which leads directly to the grand hall.
The construction was completed in 1689 and the villa was honored by the Emperor's visit when in 1702 Count Šternberk received the Emperor Leopold I.

The Moldau river, in Czech called Vltava, is the longest river in the Czech Republic. It has a length of 440 km and is furthermore a tributary of the Elbe.
The Moldau river descends from three source rivers. These are the so-called Gramineous Moldau, near Kuschwarda - Strazny, the so-called warm Moldau near Aussergefild - Kvilda and the so-called cold Moldau nearby Haidmuehle in the Bavarian Forest. At least the Moldau river flows to the river Elbe - Labe at the town Melnik.
The Moldau river was the inspiration of many artists.
One of the most beautiful works is without a doubt the symphony of Bedrich Smetana the Moldau river. In this symphonic poetry, Bedrich Smetana applies the race of the river to the melody. The work reflects the race of Moldau again, beginning with the two small springs, the cool one and the warm Moldau, to their union to a stream, the race of the river Moldau through forests and wide fields. The Moldau river keeps on flowing in wide train towards Prague, at the Vysehrad castle and vanishes in a royal race finally at Melnik into the Elbe - Labe river.
According to the law, the Moldova has the character of an international waterway in Prague.
On a boat you can reach Mělník and then Usti nad Labem, Dresden or even Hamburg. If you would like to do such journeys, we would be pleased to organize them for you.
